Inspiring the Next Generation
Over the past few years, Chrome has been delighted to enhance what we can offer to students and young people looking to enter the industry. From comprehensive work experiences to larger networking events, we constantly endeavour to open our doors to as many young creatives as we can – we all remember how difficult it can be to land that first apprenticeship, role, or job!
We began our official work experience program in 2023 and have developed and honed it over the years. We always aim to host a work experience during a busy period so that we can provide as rich, in-depth, and well-rounded a workweek as possible, consisting of everything from creative brainstorming, researching for the Production team, and attending a shoot as a runner to sitting in on meetings, preparing for a client pitch, and editing a showreel with the Post Production team. No day or week is the same at Chrome, but the one constant is that a work experience student will gain insight into our multi-faceted world of nose-to-tail production.
In addition to hosting individual work experiences for students and other young professionals looking to learn more about the industry, Chrome holds our own networking event – Chrome Connections. This informal gathering is held in our Kentish Town office and allows creatives from different backgrounds to gain insight into the world of production and network with other like-minded individuals. Each department – Creative, Production, Post Production, and Operations – holds a session during which we talk about our jobs, discuss our work, answer questions, and review and refine CVs. We really look forward to meeting everyone who comes through our doors and indeed have gone on to personally mentor and hire attendees who join us. Nothing quite compares to the spark of chemistry that comes from a face-to-face meeting!
Recently, we had the pleasure of attending the University of West London’s Creative Careers Fair at their Ealing campus. Melly Cook, Global Head of Productions, and Perry Pollock, Operations Manager, met students and alumni, discussed opportunities in the industry, and encouraged everyone to stay in touch with us as their studies and careers progress. It was wonderful to see such a great turnout of enthusiastic and talented students.

We are always eager to get involved and share our knowledge, so if you are interested in hearing about the next Chrome Connections, learning about our work experience program, or engaging one of our team members to come to your school, please email us at jobs@chromeproductions.com.
