Chrome's 2024 Wrapped
2024 was a big one at Chrome – a globe-trotting, adventure-filled year with shoots big and small, home and away; mesmerising immersive experiences, and several prestigious awards to bust out the glad rags for. We even submitted our application to become a B Corporation certified business – a big step in our journey and one that reflects our intentions for 2025 and beyond.
OUTERNET – DIRIYAH: OASIS OF TIME
When VCCP Media approached us with the task of transporting the heart and soul of Diriyah, the 'City of Earth, straight to the Outernet – London’s ultimate digital playground, we couldn’t wait to get stuck in. Combining CGI, motion design, projection-mapping and animation, all underpinned by a cinematic musical score, we took visitors on a journey through Diriyah. Starting on a bright morning in Wadi Hanifa, we journeyed to a crystal-clear evening in Al-Bujairi, all from the bustling heart of Central London. 13 monumental screens plus dancers, musicians, artisans and activities. A takeover that re-set the bar.
MUSTANG GTD: ROAD TO THE RING
When Ford unleashed the Mustang GTD on the Nürburgring, it wasn’t just a test – it was a statement. Nicknamed ‘The Green Hell’, the Nürburgring boasts 73 corners and 300 meters of elevation change over 20.8km and provides the ultimate ‘fitness test’ for performance vehicles. Becoming the first American car manufacturer to go sub 7-minutes on the legendary track, Ford proved that the GTD is far more than American muscle, and that it can compete with Europe’s finest.
CHRISTIE’S INAUGURAL HONG KONG SALE: A DAZZLING DEBUT
Since 2021, Chrome has partnered with Christie’s to capture the hearts and minds of viewers both in the room and at home via a reimagined auction and livestream experience. This summer, Christie’s unveiled its new Hong Kong HQ in the architectural wonderland that is the Henderson building. Picture cutting-edge camera and livestreaming technological infrastructure meeting sleek, Zaha Hadid design – the perfect setting for another world-class production.

Chrome also returned to Christie’s’ London and New York headquarters in the spring and autumn to showcase headline sales of 20th and 21st century art. In November, we had the rare privilege of livestreaming the sale of René Magritte’s L’empire des lumières, which sold for $121 million.
THE JOURNEY: TEAM GB & TOYOTA GEARED UP FOR THE PARIS OLYMPICS
2024 was the year of the Paris Olympics; Team GB and Toyota asked Chrome to produce The Journey, a compelling short-form docuseries following Team GB stars Laura Kenny, Roxy Milliner, Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix, and Giarnni Regini-Moran. It was a series about resilience – a trait many have needed in abundance in – and went beneath the surface to find out what makes our athletes tick on the road to the Paris Olympics. A tribute to grit, determination, and the human spirit. We salute you, Team GB!
UK ADVERTISING TAKES YOU PLACES
Our Founder & CEO Joel Mishcon escaped the bleak late-winter weather by representing Chrome at our SXSW debut in Austin, Texas. We joined forces with UKAEG to spotlight their campaign ‘UK Advertising Takes You Places’, with an innovative activation titled ADventure: An Immersive Experience. Over 200 guests became lead actors in their own mini movie, riding the stunning Arc Vector electric motorbike on a steezy virtual (production) journey from London to Texas – all in a whirlwind 8 seconds!

WHEN MUSTANG MET LE MANS
When Ford Mustang charged into France’s most iconic race, it wasn’t just another chapter in Ford’s storied legacy there, it was raw American muscle meeting European finesse. Using a beautiful hand-drawn animation style, we told the story of Ford Mustang from conception to competition, fuelling dreams for the next generation of thrill-seekers.

A HAT-TRICK IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE
It wasn’t just the Paris summer Olympics that gave us a workout this year, we also had the pleasure of working with 3 Premier League football teams – a kit-launch for Spurs with agency Run Deep, a performance and identity film for Chelsea, and an announcement film for Aston Villa’s shiny new stadium facilities with long-term pals and partners, MATTA.
B CORP IS OUR A-GAME
Chrome is proud to be in the process of applying for our B Corporation certification. Success would mean joining a global cohort of companies using business as a force for good. As part of the process, we’ve redefined and formalised some key policies, celebrated the standards we uphold and learned where we still have room to improve. Watch this space as we continue our journey of being a “business for good” – for our team, our clients, our partners, and our planet.
LOOKING AHEAD
As we put 2024 in the rear-view, the road ahead looks bright, with some tantalising projects and adventures lined up in early 2025.
