Chrome Wins 2 International Motor Film Awards
Last Friday, Chrome had the distinct pleasure of winning not one but two International Motor Film Awards: Best Documentary Short and Best Editing, both for our film Bring on the Mountain! Executive Creative Director Stephen Parker and Producer Lauren Brooks represented Chrome at the historic Alexandra Palace, the venue for this exciting evening, and were joined by the amazing director of this film, Oisin Tymon. We were delighted to share our win for Best Documentary Short with KORTA, a portrait piece from Nick Dean about LA motorcycle stuntman Kortel Autrey.
Chrome has been honoured to work with our long-standing partner Ford on numerous exciting projects, including Bring on the Mountain, one of our biggest challenges yet: racing an all-electric vehicle up Pikes Peak, the highest summit of the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains in an attempt to break the record. Romain Dumas, who holds the record for the fastest ascent up the staggering 14,115-foot Pikes Peak, once again took on the mountain with Ford, strapping into the new all electric SuperVan 4.2 to race up this gruelling track, ultimately breaking its class record, achieving its goal, and very nearly shattering all records.
We were over the moon to win an additional technical achievement award for Best Editing, all thanks to Andy Cardy, our Senior Motion Graphics Designer and Editor. Of this project, Andy has reflected, ‘I am really proud of ‘Bring on the Mountain.’ That was really a labour of love….We could have made an entire series with [the material] we had, so to pick which direction and which story we were going to tell…was a real challenge.’ You can read more about Andy’s take on this project in his interview, Finely Sliced.
A big thanks to our amazing team, cast, crew, and partner Ford.
The International Motor Film Awards is a high-profile showcase of talent and the world’s most prestigious event for the automotive film and television industry.
