Christie's Reveals New Jony Ive-Designed Rostrum, with Brand Film and Documentary by Chrome
As Christie's approaches its 260th anniversary, Chrome was entrusted with marking a significant moment in the auction house’s journey: a brand film unveiling a new rostrum to stand at the heart of its sales, meticulously designed by esteemed designer Jony Ive and his creative collective Lovefrom.
This film is accompanied by a short documentary, featuring a conversation between Ive and David Snowdon, Honorary Chairman of Christie’s EMEA, that delves into the inspiration behind the project, and showcases the beautiful craft behind the piece by renowned workshop Benchmark.
More than an object, the iconic Christie’s rostrum carries centuries of history and has become the ever-present stage of record‑breaking sales today. This represents the latest chapter in Christie's history; the rostrum, and the company itself, a cornerstone of culture in an ever-changing world.
