Finance Director

Chrome is recruiting an experienced Finance Director to oversee and manage finances across our company. This role will report directly to the CEO and work closely with the COO on strategic planning and execution. The Finance Director will benefit from the support of a part time bookkeeper but will also be expected to have ideas as how best to run and grow the finance department.

  • Business Partnering with Leadership team
  • Oversee the financial accounting activities for the global business
  • Ensure local statutory compliance and proper management reporting in accordance with accounting standards in each region
  • Ensure processes, policies, and controls are in place across the business
  • Manage and forecast cash flow
  • Conduct regular reviews of balance sheet accounts
  • Manage working capital and currency FX
  • Oversee payroll, cash accounts and related banking relationships
  • Develop monthly forecasts, annual budgets and long term financial plans
  • Develop the reporting and budgeting model to include team reporting
  • Be a key partner to the senior management team in developing and delivering strategic initiatives in order to grow the company’s profitability
  • Report on business performance and maintain a close relationship with senior management
  • Analyse company profit and loss statements, cash flows, departmental expenses, project performance and client profitability in order to advise senior management on delivering financial commitments
  • Contribute to projects where financial and/or business analysis is required, including the evaluation of new clients or suppliers, project pricing, development of ratecards and structuring of fees
  • Analyse overheads, including changes in staffing, use of freelance resources, and commercial terms in contracts
  • Partner with operations team to maintain appropriate compensation and benefits across the company
  • Work alongside the New Business Directors to effectively manage the project pipeline
  • Prepare information as required to complete any statutory compliances and audit
  • Work with company’s tax advisors and related service providers to ensure compliance with regulations and timely payment obligations
  • Continually use, develop, and look to enhance finance system (Xero) as an effective tool for the business and implementation of production systems
  • Evolve the structure as well as roles and responsibilities of the finance team
  • Meet a pre-agreed social or environmental goal as discussed with the leadership team
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent international
  • Significant post-qualified experience, including working within a relevant industry (experience within the media sector preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated experience in successfully working with non-finance senior staff and external clients
  • Confident, proactive and collaborative in approach, enabling the company to achieve its commercial and creative aims whilst maintaining an effective and robust financial environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to drive and affect change
  • Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to operate effectively without direct supervision
  • A keen interest in the advertising and production industry
