Livestreaming is an incredible way of expanding the size of your traditional live event audience, and in doing so growing engagement across social platforms and increasing donations or revenue opportunities. Our clients from the David Lynch Foundation, who would usually hold a high-profile, in-person gala and concert, reached out to Chrome to ask us to re-define what a fundraising gala could be during a pandemic.

The answer was a 70-minute show which featured a star-studded line up led by George Stephanopoulos with appearances from David Lynch, Hugh Jackman and Deborra-lee Furness, and musical performances from the likes of Sting, Angelique Kidjo, Elvis Costello and Kesha. By utilising cutting-edge technology that enabled a zero-latency stream, we were able to produce and direct the entire show from London with our hosts comfortably in a studio NYC.

Not only did this new approach allow the David Lynch Foundation to achieve their fundraising goals for the Meditate America campaign, but it also racked up well over 100,000 streams – 20X their normal attendee count of 500. This approach broke down geographical boundaries and raised the bar for virtual benefit galas whilst introducing new audiences to David Lynch Foundation and its mission.
